Get ready for GREEN lips..

HOW does one wear green lipstick? Part of Dolce & Gabbana's limited-edition Sicilian Jewels collection - which also includes the purple Ametista, golden Topiazo and red Rubino, alongside matching nail lacquers - the bold Emeraldo is an uncompromising, unmissable forest green that certainly requires a certain amount of chutzpah on the part of the wearer. But could you pull it off? We asked Dolce & Gabbana Make Up creative advisor Pat McGrath to create a face chart demonstrating exactly how to make the look work - and beware, she won't let you wear it under the cover of night.
"The emerald look, I feel, is more of a daytime look - perfect for a day out with your girlfriends," McGrath told us. "This lip look is incredible, so feminine but striking at the same time."
McGrath suggests gold-toned make-up to enhance the jewel-like tone of the lipstick, beginning with a base of Dolce & Gabbana's Perfect Matte Finish Foundation, followed by The Blush in Nude and The Illuminator in Eva.
"The eye look is much paler here, with a real focus on radiant gold hues which is so feminine. I started by applying the metallic gold shades in The Eyeshadow Quad in Golds, then built the shades up in the outer corner of the eye to create a really fabulous lustrous look - don't go too dark here as we want to maintain a slightly more natural look," she said, recommending a little of The Eyeliner in Gold at the corners of the eyes to enhance the metallic effect. "Finally, for the amazing lip look, use the Classic Cream Lipstick in Emeraldo, with a hint of the Ultra Shine Gloss in Gold to really lift the look and add a glossy sheen."
